Since its founding 65 years ago, Lilly Endowment has funded a variety of programs to promote education in Indiana. In recent years, the Endowment has stepped up its efforts to raise the level of educational attainment of our state's residents by supporting a number of programs, ranging from those of Indiana colleges and universities, to those of public and private K-12 schools in Marion County, and to the programs under its statewide CAPE (Community Alliances to Promote Education) initiative.
The idea for the Education Symposium came from representatives of many of the organizations around the state funded by the Endowment. They asked us about best practices other communities were establishing and how to develop solutions for challenges they were facing. They also expressed a desire to become acquainted with others in our state who have complementary aims.
This Web site is designed to provide you with a few of the highlights of the symposium as well as direct links to some of the presenters' organizations.
We appreciate your interest in the Education Symposium and your commitment to working to enhance educational attainment in our state. It is vital to our future quality of life.
